One of our members, Claire Millington, started a new allotment group for families with the aim of helping with mental health issues. She was successful in receiving a small sparks grant to help set up. Over 20 adults and children attended.
Councillor Shaf Ali presented Glen at Cardinal Court with the 26th Small Sparks funding cheque. This money will help to brighten up the entrance at Cardinal Court for visitors and residents.
We attended the learning disability awards at the Marriott hotel to celebrate the amazing award winners making this a lovely end to learning disability week.
On learning disability week carers joined the council chambers takeover day in Leeds and then participated in the learning disability pride march through Leeds from the Civic Hall to the market place.
It was nice to see all the trustees at Connect in the North offices. We had a good catch up and discussed future plans.
We have been spending a bit time on the allotment, getting it all cleaned up. We tidied up the memorial garden and painted the bench.
